ENGLAND

In order to be clear about the manners and etiquette shared by this country, we must first know the basics about it.

England is the largest of the four parts of the country called the United Kingdom which is located on the European continent. London is the capital of England and the United Kingdom. There are important things you should know, and that is that, as in other places in the world, customs and manners are different from those we Latin Americans have, and go beyond the language. Manners in England are usually quite formal.

Manners and etiquette in England are important and reflect British tradition and courtesy. Here are some key aspects:

• GREETINGS:

-The most common greeting is a handshake with eye contact and a smile. In more formal situations, such as at work or social events, it is polite to use titles such as "Mr." or "Mrs." followed by the last name.

-Smiling is the best way to greet a person, greet them, introduce them, have a conversation, etc., with a good smile on your face. It is also considered polite to say "please" and "thank you" in everyday situations.

 

• RESPECT FOR PRIVACY:

-British people value their privacy highly. Avoid asking personal or intrusive questions, especially when meeting someone for the first time.

• CLOTHING:

• MANNERS TABLE:

-At the table, the British are known for their etiquette. It is important to wait until everyone is served before starting to eat, and to keep your elbows off the table. The fork should be held in the left hand and the knife in the right while cutting the food.

• RELIGION:

Religious freedom is a fundamental principle in England, which means that people have the right to practice the religion of their choice.
